David Lendrum
David Lendrum was born in 1948 in Bedfordshire, studied at Newcastle University, and in the early Seventies moved to London to study at St. Martin's School of Art. He has lived and worked in London since, and has taken part in numerous group and solo shows in Britain, Germany, and America.
In 1984 Lendrum took part in a Triangle Workshop in Mashomack, New York State, and has also worked for periods in Dusseldorf, Bremen, and Schleswig, Germany. Since 1984 he has worked as a Lecturer in Visual Studies at a central London college.
David Lendrum has throughout his career brought an original and refreshing approach to the business of creating abstract paintings, with a strong emphasis on colour and light enlivening a sound understanding of aesthetic and formal values.
